अपभ्रंश / Name Parodies

नाव म्हटलं की त्याचा अपभ्रंश झालाच समजा. अनेकदा तो जाणून बुजून केला जातो; जसं की, समीर च्या जागी ’सॅम’, विकास/विक्रांत च्या जागी ’विकी’ वगैरे. पण ’चुकून’ काही वेळा नावांचं, शब्दांचं जे विडंबन होतं ना, ते फ़ार मजेशीर असतं.

असंच गेल्या काही दिवसांत मी निरीक्षण केलं. एक व्यक्ती जिचं नाव ’फ़िलोमिना’ आहे, त्या व्यक्तीच्या नावाचे अनेक अपभ्रंश मी ऐकले. ते असे:

फ़िलोमिनो
फ़िनोमिनो
फ़िलोमिला
फ़िलोमिलो
पण सर्वात हसू आणणारा अपभ्रंश म्हणजे, ’फ़िनॉमिना’. जितक्या वेळेला संबंधित व्यक्तीने हा शब्द उच्चारला तितक्या वेळेला आणि त्यानंतर कितीकदा ते आठवून हसू आलं.



We often hear words and names being pronounced incorrectly which sometimes create great humor. One such case is about the name 'Philomena'. I have been discovering some great versions of this name over the last couple of weeks, which are:

Philomeno
Phinomeno
Philomela
Philomelo

But the greatest one which made me laugh everytime it was pronounced and several times thereafter was 'Phenomena' and I am laughing even now as I write this.
